Art Exhibit Opens January 15!
"A Place to Bloom" Mixed Media by artist Marita Gentry
A new exhibit has been installed and will open January 15th, and be available for viewing through Saturday, February 15th. This exhibit includes a great variety of mediums: photography, mixed media, acrylics, pottery, watercolor, resin, and fiber art.
Reception with light refreshments,
February 8th from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm.

2024 Artist of the Year
Artist of the Year 2024, Misty Bibby-Hardy serves on the Board of Directors and has been an active member of the Arts Council of Livingston Parish for more than 6 years. Misty is certified in dance and has performed in numerous ballets which include: The Nutcracker, Hansel and Gretel, Swan Lake, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. Misty is a dedicated instructor and teaches Summer Camp classes at the Arts Council of Livingston Parish and at the Lockhart Community Center's Camp Empowerment Summer program.
You can find Misty teaching a pre-ballet combo program for younger dancers, pointe, ballet technique, jazz, tap, tumbling, hip hop, and more at Odyssey Academy of Dance. Odyssey Academy of Dance is home to an award-winning competition team and also offers a wonderful recreation program for those who are not interested in the competitive aspect of dance but want to learn proper technique and grow as dancers.
Misty leads a group of dancers through various recital, competition, and festival performances during the year, including the Nutcracker Ballet. She and her dancers are active in community events; you may have seen them perform during a Girls Night Out reception at the Arts Council Gallery or during a Denham Springs Festival.

"Folio" Photo Keeper or Journal
Join artist Instructor Cherie Ducote-Breaux in downtown Denham Springs at the Arts Council Gallery. You will learn to make a photo keeper "folio", including a pocket, out of cardstock and scrapbook papers.

The Arts Council of Livingston Parish is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional arts organization whose mission is to promote art performances, training, and outreach by providing a diverse range of quality programs that entertain, educate, and enrich the artistic, cultural, and economic vitality of Livingston Parish.

OUR GOALS:​
To provide our artists opportunities to exhibit and sell their art in the ACLP gallery and other venues.
To provide "Art in Education" through visual and performing art classes in the elementary schools in Livingston Parish.
To provide visual and performing art instruction at art camps held at the ACLP gallery and "Camp Empowerment" program at the Lockhart Community Center on Martin Luther King Drive in Denham Springs each summer.
To provide visual and performing art classes for adults and children.

"Preserving the Culture of Livingston Parish" book was produced by the ACLP as a legacy to the current and former resident artists and citizens of Livingston Parish for posterity. In addition to various art mediums, this book shares a glimpse of the culture and history of our communities.
